CEREC Same-Day Crowns & Bridges in Brown Deer, WI
Living with damaged or missing teeth can take its toll on a lot more than your oral health.
Teeth that don’t function properly can hurt, and even simple actions like chewing can become difficult. Missing teeth may even cause you to withdraw from others because you feel like all they notice is the gap in your smile.
A State-of-the-Art Solution for Damaged Smiles
At Lakeside Dental, we understand how difficult it can be to live with damaged teeth. We offer restorative services like crowns and bridges that restore your oral health and appearance and allow you to express yourself confidently again. We choose only the highest quality materials and state-of-the-art technology to create durable restorations that blend beautifully with your smile.
We always deliver dentistry with a personal touch, but we also value the tremendous role that technology plays in making your visits with us faster, safer, and more comfortable. For this reason, we are proud to be one of only a few practices in the area that offer CEREC (CEramic REConstruction) same-visit crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays. CEREC crowns restore the appearance and function of your smile and fit your busy lifestyle.
The CEREC Process
Our patients are always curious about the process that allows us to create a new restoration in just one day:
- During the first step, your tooth is prepared just as it would be for a traditional crown.
- Next, we take a digital impression and images of the prepared tooth, which we use to create a 3-D model. Dr. Knutsen uses this model to construct your new crown right here in our office while you sit back and relax with your favorite music or TV program.
- The CEREC system uses a milling machine that follows the model to create your restoration while you wait. We use stain-resistant, durable ceramic to improve function and appearance, and your crown is carefully color-matched to the shade of surrounding teeth for a seamless appearance.
- Finally, we adjust the crown for a perfect fit, polish it, and bond it securely to your tooth.
You can be confident your treatment is in good hands because Dr. Nathan Knutsen has extensive experience in creating CEREC restorations. In fact, he is so knowledgeable that he mentors other dentists in the use of CEREC!
A dental bridge is a prosthetic that uses an artificial tooth (called a pontic) to fill the space left by a missing tooth. A typical three-unit bridge consists of the artificial tooth suspended between two dental crowns that have been attached to adjacent teeth.
We follow the same CEREC process when creating your new bridge. However, instead of making the bridge here at our Brown Deer dental office, we send the information to a trusted dental lab where your bridge is created by skilled technicians. For this reason, we can’t complete the process in one visit, but it usually takes only a couple of days for the lab to fabricate your new bridge.
Treatment Customized for Your Needs
Of course, we still offer traditional lab-fabricated crowns that are every bit as durable and beautiful as those made using CEREC. When you visit Lakeside Dental for your consultation, Dr. Knutsen will be happy to talk to you about both options so you can decide which is right for you.
